Since the reform and opening up, China’s national economy has grown rapidly and steadily and has become the third largest economic entity in the world. In 2008, although the national economy was affected by the international financial crisis, the growth rate was still 9%.

Modern printing is a kind of processing industry that serves the society in all directions and serves all fields and individuals in society. The total amount of printing in a country depends on two factors: the level of development of the national economy and the number of people. China's printing industry and the national economy are growing at the same time. In 2008, despite the impact of the international financial crisis, the growth rate still reached 7.9%. 1. Total printing output: 230.8 billion in 2003; 280 billion in 2004; 310 billion in 2005; 380 billion in 2006; 440 billion in 2007; and 475 billion in 2008, an increase of 7.95% over the previous year.

2. Printing structure: divided into prepress, books, newspapers, packaging and printing, foreign trade processing, commercial printing, printing, label printing, screen printing, large-scale advertising printing, and other. 1. Output value of printing equipment: RMB 6.8 billion in 2003; RMB 9.8 billion in 2004; RMB 11 billion in 2005; RMB 15 billion in 2006; RMB 17.5 billion in 2007; RMB 16 billion in 2008, which is approximately 8.9% lower than the previous year.

2. Import and export of printing equipment: In these years, the import of printing equipment fluctuates less; the export growth is faster, but the total amount is still not large. Domestic sales fell 31%, imports fell 2.8%, exports rose 9.3%, and purchases fell 5%, mainly due to the impact of the international financial crisis. This is only a temporary phenomenon and it is expected that it will turn for the better next year.

1. Plate: Offset plate, PS plate production is greater than the amount of consumption, a large part of exports. In 2008, the consumption of offset printing plates increased by 10% over the previous year, with a larger increase. This may be due to an increase in short-run jobs. Imports of the PS version have barely increased in 2008 over the previous year. CTP plate production is greater than consumption, imports are small, exports are large, and export growth is fast.

2. Film: The output is much lower than the consumption, a considerable part of the imports, and the import volume is much larger than the export volume.

3. Ink: The amount of production and consumption is almost the same. Consumption in 2008 increased by 8.1% from the previous year; the proportion of imports and exports is changing.

4. Paper and paperboard: Production and consumption are similar, basically domestic production and domestic consumption. The same is true of the import and export of paper and paperboard, from the original import to the export to the export is greater than the import. The main reason is that the amount of paper or paperboard per capita has increased year by year. In 2008, the consumption of paper and board increased by 8.5% over the previous year, reaching 670 kilograms per capita. Compared with developed countries, there is still a large gap between them, and the per capita figure in developed countries is about 300 kilograms.

China's economic region

China is now divided into six major economic regions including the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta and the East China Sea, the Bohai Rim, the Northeast, the Northwest, and the Central China. The development of these six regions is not balanced. The western region accounts for a large part of China, but its degree of economic development is still not enough. The printing industry in the Pearl River Delta, the Bohai Rim, the Yangtze River Delta, and the eastern coastal areas accounted for 78.3% of the country's total. In the next few years, the printing industry in the central and some western regions will have greater development, and now some printing industries in the eastern coastal areas have started to shift to the central and western regions.

1. International Printing Exhibition

(1) The 7th Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition (CHINAPRINT2009) was held at the Beijing New International Exhibition Center on May 12-16. This exhibition was hit by the international financial crisis. Some exhibitors began to report a larger area, which later decreased, totaling approximately 15,000 m2. In spite of this, the total floor area of ​​the exhibition still reached 110,000 square meters, which is 20% larger than that of the previous exhibition (CHINAPRINT2005) and occupied all the indoor exhibition halls of the new Beijing International Exhibition Center.

Overseas, more than 2,000 viewers and more than 70 groups have registered online, and more than 50 groups have registered online. The next exhibition (CHINAPRINT) will be held in 2013.

(2) China (Guangdong) International Printing Technology Exhibition (PRINTCHINA), held in Dongguan, Guangdong for the first time in 2007, with an area of ​​80,000 m2, is very effective. The next exhibition (PRINTCHINA) will be held in 2011, or in Guangdong.

Both types of exhibitions are held every 4 years.

2. International Forum

(1) The 2nd International Forum on Printing Industry Development (Forum-PI2009) was held on May 11 at the Beijing Friendship Hotel. The first session was held in 2005 and the third session will be held in Beijing in 2013.

(2) The first Forum on International Printing Technology Development (Forum-PT2007) was held in Guangdong. The next session will be held in Guangdong in 2011. This forum is mainly for everyone's concern, ask the president of foreign companies or technical officials to make special speeches to enhance guidance.

3. Information Exchange Conference

INFOPRINT is held every year on the Friday of December 1st, the day before the council of the China Printing and Equipment Equipment Industry Association.
