Tang Wenlin, who entered Beijing Xiboer Technology Development Co., Ltd. (the predecessor of Beijing Wald Company) in 2001, and now is the vice president of Wald Company, the chief engineer of the cutter wheel technology, witnessed its step by step to glory. Xiaobo : Mr. Tang, why did you choose to enter the glass industry for glass cutting?
Mr. Tang : Wald started out as a material and has deep professional accumulation and superb processing technology in superhard tools. In 2005, Wald was invited to participate in the China International Hi-Tech Fair ("High-Tech Fair") hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other relevant departments. During the meeting, we received a Japanese merchant, and it was this presence that gave us an insight into the field of glass cutting. Initially, he was attracted by our processing advantages, let us process a small diamond rod for him. He was very satisfied with the final product, and then gave me a small ring of drawings, which is a semi-finished diamond wheel. We have been supplying it since then. Through understanding the research, we learned that this product is a key consumable for cutting high-end LCD glass, and this product is very close to our own processing advantages, so the company decided to set up a project team to enter product development. And the investigation of the market sales, so far is considered to enter the new field of glass cutting.

Xiaobo : At the end of 2007, you successfully developed China's first toothed diamond cutter wheel product, breaking the monopoly of foreign companies at that time, and talking about the ins and outs of this matter?
Mr. Tang : The requirements in high-end liquid crystal manufacturing are different from those of traditional glass cutting. First, the glass has a high hardness and requires a diamond cutter wheel to cut. Second, most of them need to be cut to achieve natural separation of the glass. Manually separated manually.
This differentiation requires the cutter wheel to have a very good penetration ability, so it is necessary to design different teeth on the circumference of the cutter wheel to improve the penetration ability. It is very difficult to make uniform and super-precision teeth on such a small cutter wheel. This technique of making diamond cutter wheels has been mastered by a foreign company at that time; There are not many manufacturing companies, and the technical level has been blocked and monopolized, resulting in the supply of this critical consumable product has been very tight and expensive. After we successfully developed, we broke this situation, making supply and prices far better than them.

Xiaobo : You have been engaged in superhard materials for more than ten years. With more than 20 patents for cutters and many other patents, what is your motivation for continuous research and development?
Mr. Tang : I have always liked mechanical things since I was a child. I have an inspiration for the machinery industry to say "unclear and unclear." In my opinion, instead of setting a large breakthrough target, each time trying to break down different small targets, and then go to experiment and study one by one. After each success, my mood will be very excited, the sense of accomplishment will arise, and then continue to be consolidated and improved. After conquering the first small goal, and then trying to break the next small goal, I will stick to it now step by step.
I feel that the motivation that drives me to continue to innovate can be simply attributed to three words: recognized, including being recognized by the leadership, recognized by colleagues, recognized by customers, and recognized by the industry. Imagine if one's labor results can be recognized by the public, how can his motivation not be mobilized?

Xiaobo : You are very focused on leading the team to intensify technological innovation. The “toothed high-permeability series diamond cutter wheel” led by you has won the second place in the first innovation and entrepreneurship competition enterprise group. In terms of team leadership, you have What is the secret?
Mr. Tang : The core members of our team are promoted from the production line and then further improved through guidance and training. In the team, we fully affirm everyone, the division of labor is very clear, and there are stage goals and overall goals. From this perspective, each root system plays a big role. We don't have the greatest credit for all. The so-called leaders also provide services and technical support for them. The final result belongs to everyone. In this way, everyone will be motivated to do things, and work will produce good results. This is not a secret. We only insist on the principle of such work and study, and we will continue in the future.

Xiaobo : You are the soul of the core technology of Wald diamond cutter wheel. How can you polish your own technology? How to break through the technical bottleneck?
Mr. Tang : Products are like their own children. There will be many twists and turns in their growth. I understand this. Since setting this product goal, I must constantly improve him, pay attention to his every move, and then try to optimize him. Of course, the product must meet the customer's needs, and even exceed the customer's requirements, so that we must anticipate the customer's invisible needs in advance. Therefore, continuous technical improvement, development, technological innovation, etc. in the micro details of the product, in order to meet our vision of the future success of this child.
In the face of technical or technical problems that can't be solved for a while, we will use the platform of the Wald family to develop detailed resources one by one, and we will discuss and study together. Extending the space and bringing resources together is one of our core strengths.

Xiaobo : Compared with your peers, what do you think is Wald's core strength? What other room for improvement in the future?
Mr. Tang : "Focus and Sustainability" is our core point. In terms of technology and business, Wald adheres to the goal of "one meter wide and 100 meters deep", does not do too much expansion exercise, and actively takes the contraction movement.

Xiaobo : What kind of planning and goals do you have for yourself and your future?
Mr. Tang : My personal opinion on the future of the company is: In the future, the company will always take the road of innovation. Regardless of the projects and products we will do in the future, Wald will insist on the commanding heights of this product and will always focus on the application of the products. Sub-area, to solve the hidden pain points of customers. We do not pursue big, only strive for excellence, and set a good example for many small and medium-sized enterprises in China.

Xiaobo : How do you view the gap between China's glass machinery tools and foreign countries? To narrow this gap, where do you think the force is?
Mr. Tang : China's glass machinery started late and the product update is slow. Although it is flat with foreign countries in some parts, the gap in key parts is still very large. The way to narrow the gap I think everyone should focus on and segment the market. Don't compete for each other's prices, but to win in terms of product quality and service. Once you enter a field, you are determined to do the best in this field and look to the future. Don't be optimistic that this market is swarming, leading to overcapacity, big price wars, and products can't be quintessential.
