Recently, the High-tech Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology organized an acceptance meeting for the “Advanced Fuel Cell Power Generation Technology†theme project of the 12th Five-Year National 863 Plan in Changchun. The project has a total of 2 topics, which are jointly completed by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan Yintai Technology Co., Ltd., Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, and Dongfang Electric Group.
After many years of research, the project has developed protons for the existing bottlenecks in the cost, efficiency, and lifetime of two types of fuel cell power generation technologies that are based on the existing long-term power generation system for direct methanol fuel cells and the complementary energy supply system for kilowatt-class fuel cells and solar cells. Key materials such as exchange membranes, nanoelectrocatalysts, and key components of the membrane electrode, peak power density of the membrane electrode at 80°C of 262 MW/cm2; research on direct methanol fuel cell stacks and system integration technologies, and assembly of rated output The power is 5 watts, 10 watts, 20 watts, 100 watts, 150 watts and 500 watts, and the energy conversion efficiency reaches 26.3%. The accumulated operation is 2600 hours and the decay rate is 8.9%. Two sets of 3 kilowatt high-pressure hydrogen sources have been developed - Fuel cell integrated intelligent power system prototype, 1 set of 3 kilowatt low cost fuel cell backup emergency power supply system and 1 set of 5kW fuel cell power supply system, and trials at the communication base station.
As an important layout of our country in the field of hydrogen energy and fuel cells, this project has broken through key technologies such as fault diagnosis and response technology, fuel storage technology, intelligent management and control technologies, and system integration; it has trained a group of key technical talents. It has provided a good guarantee for the establishment of China's independent hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry and its socio-economic development in important areas such as energy and transportation.
The expert group unanimously believed that the project completed the research content and major assessment indicators stipulated in the project notice and agreed that the project passed the acceptance.
