With the help of graphene, solar panels will one day be able to generate electricity on rainy days. Researchers at Ocean University of Qingdao published papers on Angewandte Chemie International Edition, reporting possible ways to create all-weather solar cells. Raindrops are not pure water. They contain salts and can be separated into positive and negative ions. Graphene is a single-atom-thick carbon two-dimensional material whose electrons attract positively charged ions. The separation layer of positive and negative ions can store energy like a capacitor.

Researchers add graphene to solar cells, which can generate hundreds of microvolts of electricity in simulated rain conditions.

Qunwei Tang, the lead author and materials scientist, said that future solar cells will generate electricity under any weather conditions.

Digital Scale

A digital scale is an electronic device used to measure the weight of an object or substance. It has a digital display screen that shows the weight in either metric or imperial units, such as grams, ounces, pounds or kilograms. Digital scales are commonly used in kitchens, laboratories, and for weighing small items such as jewelry or medication. They are more accurate than traditional mechanical scales and often have additional features such as tare function, automatic shut-off, and calibration.
